PAC Football Camp : Monday 7th – Friday 11th August 2017
PAC Football Camps have one simple aim – to allow boys and girls to have fun and enjoy football. Under the watchful eye and expertise of qualified football coaches, there is also the chance to develop skills and confidence in the ‘beautiful game’.
This year, we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome back our head coach – the former Hearts captain and Scotland player, Gary Mackay. Although he ‘hung up his boots’ a number of years ago, Gary is still well-connected with the world of professional football, both at his beloved Hearts FC (he still holds the record for the most competitive appearances for the club, with 640) and within Scottish football as a whole. He also has a number of other interesting ‘strings to his bow’ – for example, he’s an ambassador for the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ campaign, has a keen interest in promoting the value of sport in young people’s development. For all you football trivia fans out there, he’s also the man credited with scoring the goal (for Scotland) that sent the Republic of Ireland to the 1988 Euro Championship Finals (see below).
Gary and his coaching team did a brilliant job with the 40+ kids that turned out for it last year! The coaching obviously paid off when the kids team thrashed the adults in one final match – fingers crossed the result is just as good this year!
Gary and the team will be looking after our week long PAC Football Camp for children at Broomlee, West Linton from Monday 7th – Friday 11th August, 9am – 12.30pm.
PAC Football Camp is open to all school-aged children and costs £75 for 5 half-day football camp or £15 per session.
Could all Footballers please bring appropriate footwear for outdoor participation. A waterproof jacket could also prove useful. Please also bring your own water-bottle, morning snack will be provided.
Please note, it may be helpful to know that children can join the PAC Football Camp, as part of a full day or indeed full week at PAC for just £15 per day.
